Another Republican excuse for Romney losing Wisconsin: No voter ID law

I almost ignore titles like, “Tammy Baldwin Victory Halts GOP Momentum In Wisconsin” right now because, well, let’s face it. Wisconsin is screwed with this state legislature the way it is.

I’m sure for my own good health I should let myself focus on the brighter spots.

When I see Senator Alberta Darling telling Mike Gousha and a television-viewing public that if only we had that voter ID bill in full implementation, we could’ve gotten that Mitt in the White House, I get it. Darling is delivering a bright spot for her hard right Republican brethren.

It’s good timing. Those individuals are still locked in the denial stage of their 7 stages of grief and they’re open to some healing spin right now.

Sen. Darling says it was “one judge in Dane County” who was able to “hold it up”. She leaves out that minor little “unconstitutional” part.

I think the operating phrase here, in several ways, is “white wash”.

Here’s a bit of Amanda Terkel’s HuffPo piece.

State Sen. Alberta Darling told WISN 12’s Mike Gousha on Sunday that if Wisconsin’s voter ID law hadn’t been blocked for the 2012 elections, Romney may have won the state. Darling was a co-chair of the Romney campaign in Wisconsin.

“Absolutely. I think so,” said Darling when Gousha asked whether voter ID would have “made a difference in the outcome” of the election. “We’re looking at all sorts of different precincts and all sorts of same-day registrations. I know people will go, ‘We don’t have fraud and abuse in our elections.’ But why can’t we have voter I.D. when the majority of our people in Wisconsin wanted it? We passed it, the governor signed it. Why should one judge in Dane County be able to hold it up?”

Is this woman serious? Does she think that everything that Scott Walker does is God-like and unchallenagable? I think Berties last facelift might have caused some drain bamage.

She insults the intelligence of Wisconsin. Trouble is the dumb are too daft to even know they’re getting treated like 2 year olds.

It wasn’t lack of Voter ID laws it was Daniel Solomon, Just ask his wife or read the story “Holly Solomon Blames Husband for Obama’s Re-Election, Allegedly Rams Him With Her Car” http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2012/11/obama_reelection_mitt_romney_holly_solomon_gilbert.php

Whitewashing, indeed. Along with Paul Ryan’s not-very-subtly-coded comment about Obama winning because of the “urban vote,” the Republicans don’t seem to be able to get over the fact that the country is changing. I do wish that interviewers would call them on these (I’ll be generous) “careless” remarks. They are sickening, and they have no evidence to back themselves up.
