“Apology” to Judge Sumi from Dane County GOP, Wisconsin

Sometimes words fail me. And it’s OK –  because I’m laughing.

Full disclosure: I am never invited to these Leftist cocktail parties that the GOP speaks of in what you are about to read, and I am a little miffed to find out what I’ve been missing out on.

Below is an excerpt from an “apology” from the Dane County Republicans to Judge Sumi – who if you do not know, has an injunction against Scott Walker’s Wisconsin Act 10 because it is the product of a violation of the state’s open meetings law. Now Wisconsin’s GOP – meaning Scott Walker, Scott Fitzgerald, and bumbling Attorney General JB Van Hollen – have turned and twisted themselves about in a tangle after printing the act through an agency illegally.  And further, violating the injunction by implementing the law. We have a courtroom circus here in Dane County.

A note: 2 people asked me if this is a fake. 5 people asked Emily Mills of Isthmus’ The Daily Page if it is a fake.

Seeing that it is published on The Wheeler Report assured me it is real. I have yet more evidence it is real forthcoming…

Republican Party of Dane County Apologizes To Judge Sumi The Republican

… this isn’t about the law, is it? The Republican Party of Dane County recognizes that Judge Sumi is a leftist living in Dane County.  Her friends are leftists living in Dane County.  Her son is a left wing activist in Dane County.  She goes to cocktail parties held by leftists in Dane County.  She shops at organic gourmet food shops run by leftists living in Dane County.  If she were to enforce the law of Wisconsin and do what was in the best interest of the people of Wisconsin, she’d be exiled from her lifestyle.  She’d lose her friends!

..We prioritize the Constitution and the well being of the people of Wisconsin over foie gras at cocktail parties.  That’s the choice we made.  We respect Judge Sumi’s decision to live her life with the rich diversity that liberals cherish.

Here are the gentlemen who made this possible:

Blake Gober- blake@danegop.org  &  Jeff Waksman-jeff@danegop.org

And here is the Original letter in full.

A bit later, somebody sent me this:

#wiunion LEAKED MEMO from @danegop press release authors – Blake & I are getting pounded with e-mails from angry people and I’ve also been contacted by two different reporters already this morning. If any of you get contacted, please be sure to say that we are not criticizing organic food, nor are we criticizing the people of Dane County. The serious point beneath the sarcasm is that Dane County is an intimidating place for people who want to challenge the far left on any issue. Half the stores in downtown Madison have signs in their windows saying that if you support Scott Walker you hate children and teachers – how many people have the courage to walk into those stores and speak freely about collective bargaining reform? So the point is that this intimidating environment makes it very hard for people to do the right thing in Dane County. It’s much easier to just go with the radical left on everything. If you have any questions or don’t know how to respond to anything, please contact me either by e-mail or at 914-374-3491. –

and a touch later friend Kirstin assured me that Blake Gober is proudly tweeting that he did write this “apologetic”  letter.

Here’s the feedback Blake’s been getting:

FWIW, I have never tasted foie gras,and I haven’t been to a cocktail party in a long time. @blakegober #wiunion #danegop

A mentor in decorum and rhetoric, apparently. “@Blakegober: Is at the Capitol talking with Sen Grothman’s office” #wiunion

How many years have you had in PR?

Is anyone going to make an act.ly petition thanking @Blakegober for helping us(nationally) win the middle? #wiunion

You’re not doing your party any favors. Viral does not necessarily mean good. Your childishness is on display to the world.

He is known as @Blakegober on twitter, who is, per his twitter profile,  “Executive Committee Member of the Republican Party of Dane County and Proud member of the United States Marine Corp” and from Monroe, Wisconsin.

By his Linkedin profile he is “Executive Director of Bad Cities at Republican Party of Dane County”  Not kidding. “Bad cities”. I have no idea what this means. Madison is a “bad city”?

I’m still laughing. Please feel free to comment.

mamaraby – Amazing. I never got a dime from the Muslim Brotherhood, Now I know I’ve never gotten a leftist cocktail. The truth does “out” itself…
Ari- “I was pretty certain that the GOP had a monopoly on caviar and cocktails” Well, probably not. But the Gov himself didn’t set a fine example of opening his heart to the common man when he locked the public out of the Inauguration!
kdwsunshine-Glad to see you come by. “(And, I can’t help it….I keep seeing “goober” when I see that handle)” Ha! One of my facebk friends said the same a bit ago.
Jude-While young Blake’s bizarre “apology” got through to the press, I suspect more mature leadership might have a word w. him on this one and be not exactly thrilled. I think it’s a goof. A hilarious goof.
muttmutt- I think this is little bit sad. But the funny so outweighs the sad. I had a great morning as a result of this dumb letter. So there’s that.

I expect more from people who want to be leaders in my government. I would be fired from my job if I wrote something like this. It is adolescent and immature. It preys on people’s vulnerability to fear. These people need to be kicked out.

After following so many of you from Wisconsin for over a month, I’d just like to say thank you to you and many others for the fight you’re waging. And the reports you’re providing for those of us in far flung states like Texas. (Home of Governor Goodhair, unfortunately.) And, kind of geekily thrilled to have my comment to blakegober included in your post. : )

hey! How come I’m not being invited to these “Leftist cocktail parties” either!? I can’t.. I mean… there are no words.

Uh, apparently the Wisconsin GOP is soooo austere that they can’t afford someone to proof-read their letters for grammatical errors:

“We accept that Left feels righteous vandalizing our homes and keying our cars.”

I’m just amazed they have the… cahones, to claim to be aligning themselves with the working-class in opposition to the elite chic upper-class. Amazing. I mean, I get that we’re all “elitists” of a sort, but usually that sort is the home-made tailoring jobs and tweed jackets, I thought. I was pretty certain that the GOP had a monopoly on caviar and cocktails. Don’t they own sole rights on shipping imports or something?

    Color me amused.

Where Karma meets Bitch. Seeing this kind of political and personal self-immolation is almost embarrassing. Almost…

I don’t live in Dane County, but I was similarly disappointed when I found out from a certain fellow that the Muslim Brotherhood were funding the protests in Madison. We never got our check…I mean…what does one need to do? Provide receipts? :0)
