Dig Into These Maps of Wisconsin Recall Offices and Recall Events

Check out the recall office map!

View Recall Offices in a larger map

I tweeted this google map and a couple folks were sad to not see more offices farther north. If you’re in that camp, don’t despair. There are lots of events that will show up on the WisDems site (below) that won’t be on the google map AND consider that you or your local group could organize your own signature-gathering event after receiving some training on how to be petition circulators.

I’m seeing that people are organizing parties either at home or in public spaces and I’m seeing several drive-thru events where people can just drive right up to a petition station in a parking lot on their way to work or back home from work. Those drive-thru spots are still recruiting for volunteers.

Go HERE and enter your zipcode to see if there is a signature gathering party or drive-thru already getting organized in your area. At the moment there are 84 in a 10 mile radius of Madison!

Do you want to circulate petitions? Get trained.
I went to a training session on how to circulate petitions this morning in Madison but again, these are all over the place. I found my training session through this United Wisconsin calendar.

If you have questions about how and why this recall is happening, here’s a nifty FAQ .

But, but…I’m shy!
If you aren’t the sort to gather signatures, consider that there will be various other needs like data checking on petitions, logistics assistance, and who knows what. This is a massive effort lasting 60 days to gather close to 1 million signatures to recall Scott Walker as well as at least 4 Republican state senators. It will be not only a political expression but a show of what Wisconsinites can do when they collaborate on a mass scale. Or in other words, this is going to be simply awesome and you have to be a part of it!

Visit United Wisconsin to donate or pitch in.

Forward.

Good look Wisconsin, Now above all else is the time to act! You are once again leading the nation in the fight to preserve a democracy of the people! We need to drive out this corporatism at all costs. I it cant be accomplished at the voting booth then let be in the streets!

The drive-thru stations are great. Where are they? What about Park and Rides?
I see one map omission, no Stoughton:

Basically if you go to that WisDems link you can put in your zipcode and then say what mile radius you’re curious about and then a list of places pops up. So here is the link – - http://grassroots.wisdems.org/page/event/search_simple Looks like this is a stoughton zip code: 53589 Yeah–no Stoughton events. I see McFarland, Oregon, Brooklyn coming up and they aren’t so close. If you want to start an event in Stoughton, go here – - http://grassroots.wisdems.org/page/event/create and make one. Remember you can turn to a local group that might already have some ideas such as local unions, local parents group, local progressive group, book group etc. and get some help.

BTW–There will be a stoughton thing on the map soon. I called the phone # to inquire. With regard to drive up spots….since I don’t see a nifty map of that right now, I’ll see if there is something I can do – or maybe the Dems can refine their map for that.
