At 1AM Friday February 25, Assembly Republicans Pass Budget Bill with Seconds-long Roll Call Vote.

Video of Assembly Democrats outraged following sneak vote: and the same moment from David Douglas of News 3: From the New York Times: “…Debate had gone on for 60 hours and 15 Democrats were still waiting to speak when the vote started around 1 a.m. Friday. Speaker Pro Tem Bill Kramer, R-Waukesha, opened the...

Scott Walker recorded as he speaks with David Koch Imposter

February 23, 2011

I got this from the Buffalo Beast’s “Koch Whore: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker answers his master’s call” The following is written by “Murphy”: “He’s just hard-lined—will not talk, will not communicate, will not return phone calls.” -Wisconsin state Sen. Tim Carpenter (D) on Gov. Walker (source) Carpenter’s quote made me wonder: who could get through...

Grab bag of blogging: If the bumper sticker bleeds, it leads | Wisconsin union-busting theories | Team Scooter | Elizabeth Warren

Republican State Representative Robin Vos thinks this bumper sticker image of Scott Walker with a train flying through his head is “indecent”(the first sticker design was more gross. Check it out.). WPR’s Joy Cardin will chat about the Democratic-sponsored sticker and more on her radio program’s 8-9am tomorrow,  Friday 12/31. In good taste or not,...

Grab bag of blogging: King-elect Walker, Pathological hatred for Madison,…

King-Elect Scott Walker State agencies would be limited in setting regulations and the governor would need to approve any proposed rules under legislation proposed by Gov.-elect Scott Walker. Scooter says his legislation “will take the power of regulating away from unelected bureaucrats and put it back where it belongs — in the hands of the...

Keith Olbermann says Scott Walker cut off his nose to spite his face: Wisconsin high-speed rail rejection

By

December 15, 2010

Wisconsinites already know too, too much about this story. It’s not a fun video to watch. Seeing Keith Olbermann laughing about our Tea Party Governor-Elect Scott Walker confirms that I live in a laughingstock red state. He shows footage of Ohio Governor-Elect Kasich boldy fabricating, saying the train in Ohio would run at 39...

What’s up with Wisconsin’s rail?: This haunts me. Madison’s Mayor and Common Council President Mark Clear have told the city’s Economic Development Committee to keep its mouth shut and let the mayor diplomatically broach the subject of high-speed rail with Gov-Elect Scott Walker.  And by “diplomatically broach” I mean wait around for Scott Walker to...

Scott Walker and high speed rail: This is why Wisconsin can’t have nice things. Or jobs.

New Development immediately after I posted this: Sensenbrenner, Petri, and Ryan conduct worthless stunt: legislation to return $810 million in rail $ Walker needs to eat crow and support our high speed rail plan as originally crafted, and FAST. Or he’ll have to change his notrain.com site to nojobs.com. Scott Walker, Gov-Elect, has consistently campaigned...

The whole City of Madison is on suicide watch

I have a lovely and formal postmortem on Feingold’s race that I can’t finish because it makes me sad.  So instead, here’s the wry writing of Michael Feldman: “…No sainthood without martyrdom, they say, but the sting of losing our patron saint, Russ Feingold, is still too fresh, even after a numbing campaign which stressed...

I am a Progressive now in a Red State: Wisconsin. It feels like I just moved.

I am a Progressive now in a Red State: Wisconsin. It feels like I just moved.

This is pretty bad. Wisconsin is the only state to lose to Republicans: A majority in U.S. Senators + the Governor seat AND both Wisconsin State Assembly & Senate. Some things I’m thinking about: IF you are one of the typical Dane County residents who is challenged to name more than 3 Wisconsin counties,...
